Binekhi Kindzmarauli

Binekhi Kindzmarauli is a naturally semi-sweet red wine made from 100% Saperavi grown in the Kindzmarauli microzone of Kakheti, eastern Georgia – one of the country’s most famous Protected Designations of Origin for semi-sweet reds. It is produced by Binekhi Winery, founded by entrepreneur Givi Gigineishvili, which makes around 300,000 bottles a year exclusively from indigenous Georgian grapes, combining ancestral Georgian winemaking with modern European techniques.

Binekhi farms its own Saperavi vineyards in Eniseli, in the heart of the Kvareli and Kindzmarauli zones on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus. Grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted, and the wine is made in a classic style to preserve the natural sweetness and fresh fruit of Saperavi.

Tasting notes

Deep purple in the glass, with an expressive bouquet of wild berries and red fruit. The palate is light-bodied and juicy, with soft tannins, a refreshing fruity aftertaste and pleasant acidity that balances the sweetness, leading to a smooth, harmonious, velvety finish.

Food pairing and serving

Serve lightly chilled at 12–14°C. Lovely with blue and mature cheeses, fruit desserts, dark chocolate, pâté and mildly spicy dishes – or simply on its own.
