Binekhi Saperavi is a full-bodied dry red wine made from 100% Saperavi, Georgia’s flagship red grape, grown in Eniseli in the Kvareli area of Kakheti, eastern Georgia. It is produced by Binekhi Winery, founded by entrepreneur Givi Gigineishvili, which makes around 300,000 bottles a year exclusively from indigenous Georgian grapes, combining ancestral Georgian winemaking with modern European techniques.

Binekhi’s Eniseli vineyards sit on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus, within the Kvareli and Kindzmarauli zones – classic territory for deeply coloured, structured Saperavi. The grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted and made in a classic style that shows the variety’s dark fruit and firm structure.

Tasting notes

Deep pomegranate-purple in colour. The nose is rich with ripe cherry and a touch of cream, with subtle hints of black currant. The palate is full-bodied and generous, with firm tannins, ripe dark fruit and a balanced, long finish.

Food pairing and serving

Serve at 16–18°C. A natural partner for grilled and roast red meats, lamb, beef stew, game, hard cheeses and Georgian classics such as mtsvadi (grilled skewers) and khinkali.
