Château Mukhrani Qvevri Red - Saperavi, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tavkveri

Château Mukhrani Qvevri Red is a dry still red wine from Kartli in Georgia, made from Château Mukhrani estate-grown Saperavi, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tavkveri. The grapes come from vineyards in the Mukhrani valley and nearby Vaziani slopes, where continental conditions, altitude and mountain winds help preserve aromatic freshness. The wine is fermented and macerated in qvevri, with three months of skin maceration, then matured for 15 months in a combination of oak barrels, clay amphoras and qvevri before further bottle ageing in the winery’s caves.

Rich and full-bodied, it offers intense dark fruit aromas of blackberry and black currant alongside eucalyptus, floral notes, sweet spice, black pepper, tobacco, chocolate and integrated oak. The palate is described as deep, juicy and complex, with dark fruits, dry herbs, chocolate, spice, fine tannins, a mineral middle palate and a long, crisp finish. Serve at 15-18°C with beef, pork barbecue or mature cheeses.
